About me & Societa Wine… with my passport in hand
I’ve been in love with food and drink for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I used to rate the Shirley Temples at every restaurant my parents took me to. Gathering around the table was always a big part of growing up too, making pierogi with my dad, Christmas Eves filled with both Polish and Italian traditions, and learning early on that food is really about connection.
But it was the Italian way of thinking about food and wine that truly captured me.
My first career was as a professional baker, though it wasn’t long before wine stole my heart too. I’ve been lucky to work in incredible wine-focused places everywhere from NYC to
Anchorage, Alaska, and now Portland. Through it all, Italian wine has been the constant thread for more than 15 years. It’s what drew me deeper into wine, the history, the regional differences, the personality of each grape, and the way every bottle tells a story.
Over the years, that curiosity has taken me back to Italy again and again, even living there for a few months before eventually making Portland home. Wanting to always dive deeper has led
me to complete the Italian Wine Scholar through the Wine Scholar Guild, Italian Wine Expert through the Italian Trade Agency, and most recently becoming a candidate for the Italian Wine Ambassador title through the Vinitaly International Academy.
More than anything, I want to share why Italian wine feels so special to me, not just what’s in the glass, but the culture and sense of community that surrounds it. I will occassionally host
pop-ups of wines outside of Italy as well... ;)
So let’s gather around the table. Let’s discover new wines, make new friends, and travel to different places through what we’re drinking. Casual, communal, never stuffy, and with
plenty of delicious food along the way.
Cin cin!
