Italy Meets Pacific Northwest: Translation; Not Imitation

$70.00

On August 14th from 6–8 PM, we’ll explore what draws so many people to Italian wine and how a number of Italy’s native grapes have found new homes, including right here in the Pacific Northwest.

These Northwest wines aren’t trying to replicate Italy; they’re interpretations shaped by different soils, cultures, and perspectives. We’ll taste through a selection of local producers working with Italian varieties alongside their Italian counterparts, creating an opportunity to discuss, and discover. Why did someone decide to plant these grapes here? How do they express themselves differently? What might their future look like in our region? We'll have plenty of room for questions, conversation, and curiosity.

To accompany the wines, Chef Joe Rodriguez will prepare a family-style menu inspired by both the Pacific Northwest and the Italian table. Joe’s culinary philosophy was shaped through years of collaboration with local farmers and producers, fostering a deep appreciation for seasonality, sustainability, and thoughtfully grown ingredients. Most recently, he served as Chef de Cuisine at Tournant for more than a decade, helping build one of the region’s most respected farm-to-fire dining experiences.

The goal for the evening is simple: to gather around the table, connect these two worlds, deepen our understanding of Italian wine culture, and celebrate what’s happening here at home in the Pacific Northwest.

*Must be 21 years or older to attend. No refunds provided but tickets can be transferred to another person. Please email if you will be giving your ticket(s) to another person.
